“The Lovely Village of Effingham”
Off the beaten track, on a quiet village lane lies The Plough – a well kept secret, a hidden jewel in the heart of the Surrey Hills countryside. Since 2000 our reputation has been built on word of mouth recommendations and our great food.
We pride ourselves on creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all to enjoy whatever the occasion. Refurbished in January 2013 including a new orchard garden, The Plough, Effingham combines informal, relaxed dining with restaurant quality, fresh and creative food from our seasonal monthly changing menu.
The Plough is the perfect lunchtime treat, celebratory dinner & meeting spot so please do not hesitate to ask us to make your time with us more special.
Charity Fundraising & Events
Every year we look to support great charities and fundraisers to show our support for the local community and our customers too. We have recently just raised £252 within one week for Topic of Cancer: Raising awareness and funds for the University of Surrey research team into Immunotherapy as the best way forward to kill cancer cells using our own bodies defences.
If you have a spare few minutes please go to www.topicofcancer.org.uk and donate online for an incredible cause. Registered Charity No: 1151079
Our events calender throughout the year is always changing so please make sure that you sign up for our exclusive newsletter here to stay connected with the latest going’s on. Join us on Social media too & you could WIN a meal for 2 worth an amazing £100.
Newly Refurbished & Looking Great!
Last year The Plough under went a well needed refurbishment and smarten up. We focused on making our dining room and bar area more comfortable for those joining us. Our interior was put together by the landlords wife who did a job in reviving the character and ambiance of the pub while offering a more modern setting. We hope that you enjoy your time with us and appreciate the finer details as much as we do.
The pretty garden and front terrace are also popular with families, walkers and cycling groups, when cooler, the warm and friendly ambiance inside makes this a real home from home for everyone. We are right by the North Downs Way and many areas of outstanding natural beauty, why not combine your trip and visit one of the many local attractions including Bocketts Farm.
